Methods to Forward Emails to another Account Automatically

Have you created new email account? Would you like to forward all new coming emails from old Gmail account to new one automatically? Don’t worry the process is quite easy with Gmail. Simply follow the approach we are mentioning below for the same. Please keep in mind for the safety purpose of your account Gmail doesn’t allow Spam messages to get forwarded to your new email account.

Approach to forward new emails

1. Go to your Gmail account from which you’d like to forward all the new coming messages to another account.

2. Click to the gear available at the top right.
3. Choose setting.
4. Choose the Forwarding and POP/IMAP

1. You will find Add a forwarding address under “forwarding” section. Click on that.

2. Now specify the email address you would like to forward to.

3. For the security purpose a verification mail will be sent to your new account. If you are unable to view the same the check out your Spam folder.

4. Come back to your Gmail account and reload the page in your web browser.

5. Now check the Forwarding and POP/IMAP page in setting and check Forward a copy of incoming mail is selected or not and your email address is present in the drop-down menu or not.

6. Go to the second drop-down menu, select what you desire Gmail to do with your messages after they’re forwarded, such as keep Gmail’s copy in the Inbox (recommended) or archive Gmail’s copy.

I want to forward only few mails?

If you are interested to forward only few kind of mails to another email account then set specific characteristics by using filters. Filter will sort out specific categories of mails that will meet with those characteristics and will only forward them.

Forward to multiple accounts

Gmail is restricted to auto-forward all of your mail to one email address at one time. You can view the details of address Gmail is currently forwarding to in the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab of Settings.

With the help of Filters you can forward specific types of messages to multiple accounts. You are allowed to create up to 20 filters that forward to other addresses.

Method to Stop auto-forwarding

If you would like to stop auto-forwarding option then go through the instructions mentioned below:

1. Go to your Gmail account from which you’d like to forward all the new coming messages to another account.
2. Click to the gear available at the top right.
3. Choose setting.
4. Choose the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.

5. Now choose Disable forwarding under the “Forwarding” section.
6. Simply click the first drop-down menu just after “Forward a copy of incoming mail to” and verify whether any addresses are listed there as “(in use by a filter).” For disabling the forwarding filter, select the Remove option.
